At Greyfriars we want to help give your child the very best start in life. We work with children, parents, external agencies and the community to ensure the welfare and safety of our children. Children have the right to be treated with respect, to thrive and to be safe from any abuse, in whatever form. Please read our full Safeguarding Children and Young People/Child Protection Policy for further information.
Our nursery promotes a healthy lifestyle and a high standard of safety and hygiene. Please see the Health and Safety section of our Policy and Procedures Pack or information regarding: outdoor play, information sources, cleanliness, risk assessment, smoking, alcohol, environment, supervision, adult safety, management, special considerations, nappy changing, toileting and sun care.
Our aim is to provide for the individual development needs of each child. All children in the group, irrespective of any special needs or disabilities, are encouraged wherever possible and appropriate to participate in the group’s activities. Please see the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities section of our Policy and Procedures Pack for more information.
We believe that children and adults flourish best in an ordered environment, where everyone knows what is expected of them and children are free to develop their play and learning without fear. We aim help children develop self-discipline and self-esteem in an atmosphere of mutual respect and encouragement. See the Behaviour Management section of our Policy and Procedures Pack for more information.
It’s our intention to make our nursery genuinely accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community. To find out how we accomplish this, please see the Admissions section of our Policy and Procedures Pack for further information.
